He described a routine for the captive women.
″I mean, I had a Christmas party and a New Year’s party.″ ″I was holding parties there, for one thing,″ he said. Heidnik also said he ″tried to make it nice″ at first in the basement. ″I consciously knew I was trying to hide the evidence,″ Heidnik told the agents. Another woman was electrocuted when Heidnik touched live wires to her chains while she stood in a water-filled pit in the basement. and in the oven and stuff, and that was when you got the big smell and all it made.″Īccording to testimony, Heidnik sawed up remains of one victim and fed part of the remains to other captives. ″I, I dismembered the body, and I, I, you know, started burning it on the stove. It makes me sick just thinking about it,″ he said. ″I’m sitting there, you know, trying to figure out what the hell to do, you know. I was trying to find something that would make them behave.″ ″I was trying to find something that worked that would make them shut up and stop hollering. In the interview, Heidnik said he played a radio at loud volume to drown out noise from the women when he left the house, and began shocking them with electricity to try to quiet them. He raped all of them and killed and dismembered two. Heidnik lured six women to his home between November 1986 and March 1987 and kept them half-naked and in chains in the basement of his house. It was included in a story about an FBI unit talking with rapists and murderers to try to understand their actions. The prison interview was part of six hours of questioning by two FBI agents. From what I’ve understood from people who’ve seen the show, he really is as insane as I’ve been telling people he is,″ Peruto said.
Peruto said he did not see the program, but said he was not surprised by anything he heard about Heidnik’s remarks.
